Biographie
Winifred Seqwana a été la première femme africaine membre du Parti communiste d’Afrique du Sud. Elle a été la fondatrice de l’Association de vigilance des femmes de Langa et du Mouvement des Bandes noires. En 1954, elle devient présidente de la Langa au sein de la Ligue des femmes du Congrès national africain, tout en étant membre fondatrice de la Fédération des femmes sud-africaines et vice-présidente du Conseil national des femmes africaines.
Biography
Winifred Seqwana was the first African female member of the Communist Party of South Africa. She was the founder of the Langa Women’s Vigilance Association and the Black Sash Movement. In 1954, she became the chairperson for Langa in the African National Congress Women’s League, while also being a founding member of the Federation of South African Women and vice-president of the National Council of African Women.
