Ali Ben Salem est un militant anticolonialiste et des droits de l'homme. Son enracinement politique fait suite à la mort de son père, abattu par la police lors d'une manifestation nationaliste. Il a participé à la fondation de la Ligue tunisienne des droits de l'homme (LTDH).

Ali Ben Salem is anti-colonial, human-rights activist. His political root follow his father being shot and killed by police during a nationalist demonstration. He helped to found the Tunisian League of Human Rights (LTDH).
