Carmen Pereira a occupé le poste de présidente par intérim de la Guinée-Bissau (14 mai 1984 - 16 mai 1984) pendant seulement trois jours. Elle a également été la première femme en Afrique à occuper le poste de présidente par intérim. Elle avait auparavant combattu en première ligne lors de la lutte pour l'indépendance.
Biography
Carmen Pereira held the office as acting President of Guinea-Bissau (14 May 1984 - 16 May 1984) for only three days, she was also the first woman in Africa to hold the role of an acting president. She had previously fought on the frontline during the struggle for independence.
