Pepetela est le nom de plume d'Artur Carlos Maurício Pestana dos Santos, un célèbre écrivain de fiction angolais. Il était membre du MPLA pendant la guérilla d'indépendance. Ses écrits portent principalement sur l'histoire politique de l'Angola, en particulier sur le XXe siècle. Il a été récompensé pour son œuvre, notamment par le prix Camões en 1997 et le prix Prince Claus en 1999.

Pepetela is the pen name of Artur Carlos Maurício Pestana dos Santos, a famous writer of fiction from Angola. He was a member of the MPLA during the guerrilla independence war. His writing is primarily focused on the political history of Angola, particularly the 20th century. He has won awards for his work including the Camões Prize in 1997 and Prince Claus Award in 1999.
