Ronnie Mutimusekwa était un activiste hétérosexuel du VIH/sida qui a ouvertement partagé sa maladie avec la presse en 1989, marquant le début de son parcours vers la déstigmatisation des points de vue sur l’épidémie croissante. Il a travaillé au sein de groupes communautaires et plus tard avec le Matabeleland AIDS Council. Ses efforts ont aussi permis de défier les opinions haineuses sur l’homosexualité et les travailleurs du sexe.
Biography
Ronnie Mutimusekwa was a heterosexual AIDS/HIV activist who openly shared his illness with the press in 1989, marking the beginning of his journey towards de-stigmatising views on the growing epidemic. He worked within community groups and later with the Matabeleland AIDS Council. His efforts further challenged hateful views on homosexuality and sex workers.
