Winnie Madikizela-Mandela était une militante et une femme politique sud-africaine qui a occupé plusieurs postes au sein du gouvernement et a dirigé la Ligue des femmes du Congrès national africain. Elle était mariée à Nelson Mandela, révolutionnaire politique et premier président de l'Afrique du Sud après l'apartheid. Elle a reçu un doctorat en droit de l'université de Makerere, en Ouganda, en reconnaissance de son rôle dans la lutte contre l'apartheid.

Biography

Winnie Madikizela-Mandela was a South African activist and politician who held several government positions, as well as heading the African National Congress Women's League. She was married to political revolutionary and first post-Apartheid President of South Africa, Nelson Mandela. She received a Doctor Of Laws degree from Makerere University, Uganda, in recognition of her role in the struggle against Apartheid.
