Josina Machel était une militante et un membre du Front de libération du Mozambique (FRELIMO). Au cours de la lutte pour l'indépendance, elle a été emprisonnée à deux reprises. Josina Machel a épousé Samora Moisés Machel, qui est devenu le premier président du Mozambique indépendant.

Josina Machel was an activist and a member of the Mozambique Liberation front, or FRELIMO. During the struggle for independence, she was imprisoned twice. Machel married Samora Moisés Machel who would become the first president of independent Mozambique.
