Biographie

António Jacinto, également connu sous le pseudonyme d'Orlando Tavora, était un poète et homme politique angolais. Il a d'abord commencé sa carrière politique en exprimant très ouvertement ses opinions politiques dans ses poèmes, ce qui lui a valu plusieurs arrestations et un séjour dans un camp de concentration. Après son évasion, il a rejoint le Mouvement populaire de libération de l'Angola (MPLA) et a été ministre de l'éducation et de la culture, entre autres.

Biography

António Jacinto, also known under the pseudonym of Orlando Tavora, was an Angolan poet and politician. He initially began his political career with very vocal political opinions with his poetry which led to a number of arrests and a stint in a concentration camp. He then joined the Popular Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA) after escaping and served as Minister for Education and Culture, amongst other roles.
