A.S. Francis est auteur et doctorant à l’université de Chichester. Elle est principalement impliquée dans la recherche sur l’implication des femmes dans les organisations radicales noires britanniques pendant les périodes allant des années 1960 aux années 1980. Francis est l’auteur de Gerlin Bean : Mother of the Movement, une biographie célébrant le militantisme de longue date de Gerlin Bean, publiée en 2023. Francis est également consultant pour le Young Historians Project, membre du collectif History Matters et cofondateur de la revue History Matters.
Biography
A.S. Francis is an author and PhD student at the University of Chichester. She is primarily involved in researching women’s involvements in Britain’s Black radical organisations during the periods including and between the 1960s and 1980s. Francis is author of Gerlin Bean: Mother of the Movement, a biography celebrating the longstanding activism of Gerlin Bean, published in 2023. Francis is also a consultant to the Young Historians Project, member of the History Matters collective and co-founder of the History Matters Journal.
