Hamani Diori a été le premier président du Niger (10 novembre 1960 - 15 avril 1874) après l'accession du pays à l'indépendance. Il a interdit tous les autres partis politiques et, en 1974, il a été renversé par un coup d'État et emprisonné pendant six ans, puis assigné à résidence pendant sept ans.
Biography
Hamani Diori was the 1st President of Niger (10 November 1960 - 15 April 1874) following the country gaining its independence. He banned all other political parties and eventually in 1974 he was deposed in a coup and placed in prison for six years and then spent seven under house arrest.
