Faarax M.J. Cawl est le nom de plume de Farah M.J. Awl, un écrivain somalien dont l'œuvre était réputée pour ses descriptions vivantes de la flore et de la faune somaliennes. Il a été le premier romancier de son pays à écrire dans l'écriture latine naissante de la langue somali après sa création en 1972.

Biography

Faarax M.J. Cawl is the pen-name of Farah M. J. Awl, a Somali writer whose work was renowned for its vivid descriptions of Somali flora and fauna. He was the first novelist from his country to write in the nascent Latin script for the Somali language after this was formed in 1972.
