George Anyona était un homme politique et un membre du groupe d'opposition politique des « sept sœurs barbues » à l'Union nationale africaine du Kenya, au pouvoir pendant quatre décennies après l'indépendance de la nation. Incarcéré à plusieurs reprises pour avoir souligné l'importance de la démocratie, il a ensuite été interdit d'exercer, mais a continué à défendre la justice politique.
Biography
George Anyona was a politician and member of the so-called Seven Bearded Sisters political oppositional group to the governing Kenyan African National Union that was in power for four decades following on from the nation gaining independence. Incarcerated multiple times for expressing the importance of democracy, he was later barred but still continued to champion political justice.
