Mildred Lesia a trouvé sa voix politique en faisant campagne contre le système d’éducation bantoue auprès du Congrès national africain. Elle a activement soutenu la marche des femmes en 1956 et a contribué à l’établissement de l’Organisation unie des femmes au Cap en 1981, devenant sa première présidente.
Biography
Mildred Lesia found her political voice campaigning against the Bantu education system with the African National Congress. She actively canvassed support for the Women’s March in 1956, and helped establish the United Women’s Organisation in Cape Town in 1981, becoming its first chairperson.
