Biographie
Stella Nyanzi est une avocate, poète et universitaire ougandaise. Elle est connue pour avoir résisté avec audace à l’ancien président Yoweri Museveni (1986-) au moyen d’un poème de « grossièreté radicale » appelant les puissants à rendre compte de leurs actes en insultant publiquement. Elle a été arrêtée et détenue pendant dix-huit mois en 2018. Nyanzi s’est vu décerner le prix international Oxfam Novib/PEN et a été exilée en Allemagne.
Biography
Stella Nyanzi is a Ugandan advocate, poet, and academic. She is known for boldly resisting the former president Yoweri Museveni (1986-) through a poem of ‘radical rudeness’ calling the powerful to account for their actions through public insult. She was arrested and detainment for eighteen months in 2018. Nyanzi was awarded the Oxfam Novib/PEN international Award and granted exile in Germany.
