Biographie
Abderrahmane Youssoufi a été le 12e Premier ministre du Maroc (4 février 1998 - 9 octobre 2002). Il s'est d'abord aligné sur l'Union nationale des forces populaires de gauche, ce qui lui a valu d'être emprisonné. Plus tard, après son retour de Paris où il s'était exilé, il a rejoint l'Union socialiste des forces populaires, nouvellement rebaptisée. Lorsqu'il est nommé Premier ministre par le roi Hassan II, il instaure une plus grande liberté des médias. Il a remporté le prix Nord-Sud en 1999.
Biography
Abderrahmane Youssoufi was the 12th Prime Minister of Morocco (4 February 1998 - 9 October 2002), he originally aligned himself with the left-wing National Union of Popular Forces and went to prison for this. Later on, after he returned from Paris on a self-imposed exile, he joined the newly renamed Socialist Union of Popular Forces. When appointed to Prime Minister by King Hassan II he instilled a greater freedom of the media. He won the North-South Prize in 1999.
