Patrice Talon est le 8e président du Bénin (6 avril 2016) et s'est présenté comme candidat indépendant aux élections de mars 2016. Il a essayé de changer la politique pour limiter la durée du mandat présidentiel à un seul mandat de cinq ans. Il a perdu un vote qui l'aurait soumis à un référendum, mais il a accepté la défaite et a déclaré qu'il la respectait en raison de son engagement envers la démocratie.
Biography
Patrice Talon is the 8th President of Benin (6 April 2016) and ran as an independent candidate in the March 2016 election. He has tried to change policy to limit the amount of time a president can serve as a single five-year term. He lost a vote that would have put it to referendum but took the defeat and said that he respected it due to his commitment to democracy.
