Rose Francine Rogombé a assuré l'intérim de la présidence du Gabon (10 juin 2009 - 16 octobre 2009) suite au décès d'Omar Bongo. En tant que présidente du Sénat, cette fonction la mettait automatiquement en situation de succession. Elle a été la première femme chef d'État jusqu'à ce qu'elle cède le pouvoir à Ali Bongo Ondimba après son élection. Elle a distribué 23 000 jouets aux enfants de sa région natale en guise de Noël tardif.
Biography
Rose Francine Rogombé took over as acting president of Gabon (10 June 2009 - 16 October 2009) following the death of Omar Bongo. As the President of the Senate, the role automatically put her into succession. She was the first female head of state until she passed over power to Ali Bongo Ondimba after he was elected. She distributed 23,000 toys in the area of her birth to children as a belated Christmas gesture.
