Biographie

Alimotu Pelewura était à la tête de l'Association des femmes du marché de Lagos et a joué un rôle déterminant en s'élevant contre les changements apportés par les Britanniques à la fiscalité et à la législation. Elle a mené un certain nombre de manifestations et était considérée comme une grande menace par l'administration coloniale.

Biography

Alimotu Pelewura was the head of the Lagos Market Women's Association and was instrumental in speaking out against the changes in taxation and legislation by the British. She led a number of protests and was considered a great threat by the colonial administration.
