Lutchmee Marie, également connue sous le nom de Tante Doris, était une militante qui avait des liaisons avec le parti communiste sud-africain et de nombreux amis au sein du Front démocratique uni. Son fils était syndicaliste et militant, ce qui lui valut d'être harcelée. Elle s'est impliquée dans l'association des contribuables de Merebank et s'est efforcée d'améliorer les conditions de vie en ce qui concerne l'état des routes et les facteurs environnementaux généraux.
Biography
Lutchmee Marie, also known as Aunty Doris, was an activist and had dalliances with the South African Communist Party and many friends within the United Democratic Front. Her son was a trade unionist and activist and led to her being harassed. She became involved with the Ratepayers' Association of Merebank and worked to improve living conditions in terms of the state of the roads and the general environmental factors.
