Camara Laye était un écrivain guinéen qui a écrit L'Enfant noir et Le Regard du roi. Il a remporté le prix Charles Veillon en 1954 et a ensuite travaillé pour le gouvernement avant de quitter la Guinée pour des raisons politiques.
