Biographie
Kérékou a été le 4e et le 6e président du Bénin (26 octobre 1972 - 4 avril 1991 et 4 avril 1996 - 6 avril 2006). Il est arrivé au pouvoir à la suite d'un coup d'État militaire et a dirigé le pays pendant 19 ans, jusqu'à ce qu'il soit déchu de ses pouvoirs. Il a ensuite été réélu pour deux mandats et se considérait comme marxiste-léniniste.
Biography
Kérékou served as the 4th and 6th President of Benin (26 October 1972 - 4 April 1991 and 4 April 1996 - 6 April 2006). He came to power following a military coup and until he was stripped of his powers, led the country for 19 years. He was later re-elected for two terms and considered his political leanings at Marxist-Leninist.
