Paul Kagame est le quatrième président du Rwanda (22 avril 2000 - aujourd'hui). Il a participé à un certain nombre de conflits, notamment la guerre du Bush en Ouganda et la guerre civile au Rwanda. Pendant le génocide rwandais, il a averti que la guerre civile reprendrait si les meurtres ne cessaient pas et a conduit l'armée du Front patriotique rwandais (FPR) à prendre le contrôle du pays en juillet 1994, assumant son rôle de vice-président du pays. Après avoir assuré l'intérim, il a été élu président. Depuis lors, il a été réélu à de nombreuses reprises et a changé la politique du pays, de sorte que son mandat est illimité. Sous sa présidence, le Rwanda a connu un miracle économique. Pourtant, les groupes de défense des droits de l'homme l'accusent de répression politique.
Biography
Paul Kagame is the 4th President of Rwanda (22 April 2000 - present). He was involved with a number of conflicts including the Ugandan Bush War and the Rwandan Civil War. During the Rwandan genocide he warned that the civil war would resume if the murders did not cease, and led the Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPF) army to takeover the country in July 1994, assuming his role as vice-president of the country. After standing in as interim president, he was voted in as President. He has since then been re-elected numerous times and changed policy in the country so there is no limit to his term. Under his presidency Rwanda has experienced an economic miracle. Yet human rights groups accuse him of political repression.
