Biographie
Theresa Kachindamoto est l'Inkosi (chef suprême) du district de Dedza au Malawi. Depuis qu'elle a été nommée à ce poste, elle s'est donné pour mission d'annuler les mariages d'enfants et d'enrayer la propagation du VIH/SIDA. Les changements qu'elle a apportés au droit coutumier ont permis d'augmenter le nombre d'enfants scolarisés et ses méthodes sont reproduites par les Nations unies et l'UNICEF dans d'autres zones rurales.
Biography
Theresa Kachindamoto is the Inkosi (paramount Chief) of the Dedza District within Malawi. Since she was assigned the role she has made it her work to annul child marriages and stop the spread of HIV/AIDS. Her changes to customary laws have assisted with an increase of children remaining in education and her methods are being replicated by the United Nations and UNICEF in other rural areas.
