Anthony William Gardiner a été élu 9e président du Liberia (7 janvier 1878 - 20 janvier 1883) et a également assuré l'intérim lorsque Joseph Jenkins Roberts était souffrant à la fin de son mandat. Il est le premier président libérien à avoir démissionné de son poste, ce qu'il a fait pour des raisons de santé.
Biography
Anthony William Gardiner was elected the 9th President of Liberia (7 January 1878 - 20 January 1883) and was also acting president when Joseph Jenkins Roberts was unwell at the end of his term. He is the first Liberian president to resign from office which he did due to ill health.
