Souleymane Cissé est un réalisateur malien dont les œuvres ont été présentées à plusieurs reprises au Festival de Cannes et ont été en lice pour la Palme d'Or. Il a notamment réalisé un film en langue bambara qui a été interdit et a valu à Souleymane Cissé d'être emprisonné pour le financement français.

Souleymane Cissé is a Malian film director whose work has appeared at the Cannes Film Festival a number of times, and was in the running for the Palm d'Or. His work includes a film in the Bambara language which was banned and caused Souleymane Cissé to be imprisoned for the French funding.
