Biographie
Ismail al-Azhari, également connu sous le nom de « Saiyid », a été le troisième président du Soudan (10 juin 1965 - 5 juillet 1956) et le premier Premier ministre du Soudan (6 janvier 1954 - 5 juillet 1956). D'abord professeur de mathématiques, il préconise le rattachement du Soudan à l'Égypte, mais lorsqu'il devient Premier ministre, il revient sur sa décision et déclare l'indépendance du Soudan.
Biography
Ismail al-Azhari, also known as 'Saiyid', was the 3rd President of the Sudan (10 June 1965 - 5 July 1956) and the 1st Prime Minister of Sudan (6 January 1954 - 5 July 1956). Starting out as a mathematics teacher, he advocated to join Sudan with Egypt, however when he became Prime Minister he reversed his decision and declared Sudan to be independent.
